Rebecca Miller Wins First prize In The Eduardo Mata International Conducting Competition

Rebecca Miller has won First Prize in the fourth Eduardo Mata International Conducting Competition in Mexico City, the Final held on 27 September and broadcast live on Mexican television, the Jury members being Gisele Ben-Dor, Jorma Panula and Alun Francis.
Rebecca Miller, League Conducting Fellow of the Houston Symphony (2005-07), is currently Resident Conductor of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra.
Two First prizes were awarded, the other went to Lithuanian conductor Vytautas Lukocius, and the Second Prize was presented to Yaniv Dinur. The prize includes engagements with significant orchestras in Mexico, South America and Spain.
