With no agreement in sight to settle the now four-month strike by its orchestral musicians, and the rejection of its latest proposal, the management of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra announced on Saturday 19 February that it had opted to suspend the remainder of the 2010-11 season of concerts, with soloists and conductors being released from their contracts.
