Kurt Masur. Photograph: Radio France/Christophe Abramowitz Classical Source is very sorry to announce that the conductor Kurt Masur suffered a broken hip following a fall in his room at a Tel Aviv hotel. He has been operated on, reports suggest successfully. Masur, now 85 and on this occasion working with the Israel Philharmonic, has endured his share of mishaps in recent years. Classical Source sends the maestro every good wish for a speedy recovery and return to work.
