Acclaimed mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato has today launched a new campaign urging her fans to help crowdsource various elements of her upcoming ‘Best of’ album, which will celebrate 10 years of recordings with EMI & Virgin Classics. The album will be released on 2nd September 2013 to coincide with Joyce’s headline performance at the BBC Last Night of the Proms on 7th September and will celebrate 10 years of acclaimed recordings with Virgin and EMI Classics.

The #JoyceAndMe crowdsourcing campaign launches on May 15th and will run until July 1st, giving fans a chance to help Joyce determine the album title, musical contents and parts of the booklet notes.

The four parts of the crowdsourcing campaign, to be conducted across Joyce’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube channels, will invite fans to submit their ideas for an album title (15th-21st May), vote on their favourite title (22nd-27th May), suggest which of Joyce’s recordings they would like to see on the album (29th May – 4th June), and share photos and stories about Joyce’s concerts and recordings, some of which will be included in the album liner notes (10th-25th June). The campaign will end on 1st July, when Joyce will give her fans the first look at the album cover.

Joyce DiDonato is an exclusive EMI & Virgin Classics recording artist, and has recorded five acclaimed recital albums, five complete operas and two concert recordings. She was also featured on John Wilson’s best-selling Rodgers & Hammerstein at the Movies as well as other collaboration projects.
