OLEG CAETANI, ENO Music Director Designate, has been chosen as the first conductor to replace Maestro RICCARDO MUTI in the pit at La Scala, Milan. Caetani will conduct Graham Vick's production of Verdi's Otello, which opens on 17th May 2005 and will conduct all 8 performances.
Caetani made his debut at La Scala in 2001 conducting Turandot and his appointment as ENO Music Director was announced in March this year. He will take up this position in September 2006 at the start of ENO's 2006/07 Season.
