FIVE NEW MUSICIANS JOIN THE DSO ROSTER THIS SEASON
Violin, cello, bass, oboe, and clarinet positions filled
Detroit, (September 27, 2017) – This season, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) is pleased to welcome five new full-time musicians to its ranks. They are: Sujin Lim, Acting Principal Second Violin (The Devereaux Family Chair); Jeremy Crosmer, cello; Christopher Hamlen, bass; Sarah Lewis, oboe (Maggie Miller Chair); and Jack Walters, clarinet (PVS Chemicals Inc./Jim and Ann Nicholson Chair).
Lim and Crosmer officially began with the DSO in May and joined the orchestra on its tour of Japan and China this past July. Hamlen, Lewis, and Walters will make their debuts this week at the seventh annual DTE Energy Foundation Community Concerts in Dearborn, Detroit, Clawson, and St. Clair Shores, which kick off the DSO’s 2017-2018 season.
In Orchestra Hall, the DSO launches its 2017-2018 PNC Pops Series October 6 to 8, conducted by Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik; and the Classical Series gets underway with Music Director Leonard Slatkin in his 10th season leading the DSO, from October 12 to 14. Learn more at dso.org.
