English National Opera will be making its first UK music festival appearance in over ten years at Henley Festival on Sunday 15 July 2018.
Under the baton of ENO Music Director Martyn Brabbins, with six soloists, 70-piece orchestra and 40-piece choir, the English National Opera will perform music taken from many of the world’s greatest operas including Carmen, The Marriage of Figaro, Madam Butterfly, Turandot and La traviata as well as a few pieces of Gilbert & Sullivan to top the night off.
The last time English National Opera performed at a UK music festival was at Glastonbury in 2005 and this year ENO will be one of five headers at Henley alongside Rita Ora, Grace Jones, Nile Rodgers and Curtis Stigers. Henley Festival was started as a black-tie classical charity concert 37 years ago and continues to donate all proceeds. Other music genres being performed across the Festival include Jazz, World, Folk and contemporary music.
