Our Sing-Along Concert in Berlin enjoys cult status, and this enthusiasm is now spreading to France: on 3rd June a »Sing-Along Concert on Tour« will be taking place for the first time in the new Philharmonie de Paris. 1,200 participants from 20 nations will come together in the French capital in order to perform one of the most popular choral symphonic pieces in musical history together with the Rundfunkchor Berlin and its conductor laureate Simon Halsey: Handel's »Messiah«.
For over ten years now, the Rundfunkchor Berlin’s sing-along concerts have been bringing together enthusiastic singers from near and far – and they are generally sold out within minutes. The fact that the concept has also been highly successful abroad was underlined so far in Vienna, Budapest and Aspendos, Turkey. Choirs and other participants of international origin follow the choir’s invitation to perform in major concert halls world-wide. Three days are spent rehearsing a work together with Simon Halsey, and subsequently it is performed in collaboration with the Rundfunkchor Berlin. Our orchestral partner in this context is the highly-acclaimed early music ensemble Concerto Köln (Cologne). To realize the event, the Rundfunkchor Berlin cooperates with Interkultur, the leading organiser of international choir competitions.
Fans of the Sing-Along Concerts can look forward to two upcoming highlights: on 1st June 2019, the Rundfunkchor Berlin is issuing an invitation to Barcelona with its next Sing-Along Concert on Tour, performing Verdi’s Requiem in the spectacular Palau de la Música Catalana: registration as from 1st June of this year. Mozart’s requiem is on the program for the next Berlin Sing-Along Concert on 18th November 2018, registration for this begins at 10 am on 5th June.
