DETROIT SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA NAMES MARCO BRUZZANO AND DANIEL J. KAUFMAN TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Detroit, (June 28, 2018) – The Board of Directors of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) at their meeting this past Wednesday unanimously approved the election of Marco Bruzzano and Daniel J. Kaufman as new Directors of the DSO. Per the bylaws of the DSO, Mr. Bruzzano and Mr. Kaufman will serve in that capacity until the next meeting of the Governing Members of the DSO on December 13, when their names will be included on a slate of directors to be elected or re-elected for a specified term.

About Marco Bruzzano
Marco Bruzzano is the Vice President of Distribution Operations for DTE Energy, a Detroit-based diversified energy company. In his role, Bruzzano is focused on the company's multi-year effort to improve electric system reliability while managing costs to keep energy affordable. Prior to his current role he was Vice President of Corporate Strategy for DTE Energy.
Before joining DTE in 2008, Bruzzano worked broadly across the energy industry for nearly 20 years, including as a Principal with Booz Allen Hamilton and as an Engagement Manager with McKinsey & Co.
Bruzzano earned an MBA with distinction from Duke University. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, and a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Bruzzano serves on the boards of Endeavor Detroit and NextEnergy.
About Daniel J. Kaufman
Daniel J. Kaufman serves as Senior Vice President of H.W. Kaufman Group, an insurance organization headquartered outside of Detroit. Kaufman is responsible for overseeing the growth of the company founded by his grandfather in 1969. He was also appointed to the H.W. Kaufman Group Board of Directors in 2016. Previously, Kaufman led U.S. Midwest offices for Burns & Wilcox, Kaufman’s largest subsidiary.
Kaufman received a J.D. from the Loyola University (Chicago) School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). He also serves on the board of Atain Insurance Companies, City of Hope National Insurance Industry Council, Detroit Historical Society, and the Kaufman Family Foundation.
Kaufman and his wife, Morgan, live in Birmingham, Michigan.
