The renowned Brazilian-born American cellist and pedagogue Aldo Parisot has died at the age of 100. As a teacher he was associated with the Juilliard School and the Yale School of Music, a professor at the latter for sixty years. Parisot's recordings include unaccompanied pieces by Bach and Kodály.

Aldo Simoes Parisot was born on 30 September 1918 in Natal, Brazil, and he died on 29 December 2018.
