No expense spared! Full choirs and orchestra: a spectacular Christmas singsong brimful of sentiment and festivity. Medleys embrace ‘Away in a Manger’, ‘The Holly and the Ivy’ and ‘Greensleeves’! Superb arrangements (with doubts about ‘Silent Night’, and ‘Little Drummer Boy’ in counterpoint with Ravel’s Boléro) invoking Gershwin, Vaughan Williams, and Dixieland jazz! Sleigh-bells, a banjo, and tearjerkers, too. Marvellous sound!
