Kaleidoscope Shura Cherkasskys Piano Encores
...a sixty-word review by Colin Anderson
Josef Hofmanns scintillating showpiece gives the CD its name. Also included are Godowskys finger-breaking transcription of Wine, Women and Song and his re-write of Saint-Saënss The Swan. Anton Rubinsteins indelible Melody in F is included and with much else to allure, scintillate and smile at. Shura Cherkasskys individuality, bravado and old-world charm are the perfect medium for this delicious menu.
